LAKELAND, Fla., August 17, 2017- New FPRA State President Ryan Gerds, APR, CPRC led our board of directors recognition and new board installation at the August 16 meeting of the Dick Pope/Polk County chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. During the award ceremony we honored public relations excellence within our chapter. Amy Wiggins, Executive Director of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, received the Colonel John Dillin, APR, CPRC Professional of the Year Award. The Bob Gernert, APR, CPRC Member of the Year Award was received by Marybeth Soderstrom, Community Engagement Manager for the Central Florida Regional Planning Council. Our members were inspired by the stories from past presidents as the gavel was handed down from to the new chapter president, Erin Knothe.
The meeting, which included breakfast and networking opportunities, was held from 7:30-9:00 am. at Fresco’s, located at 132 South Kentucky Avenue, Lakeland, Fla. 33803.
