Election 2020: Keeping Polk’s Voters Informed

The 2020 Presidential year proved to be one of the most contentious in our history, with misinformation and myths dominating on social media. This presentation will explain how the Polk Supervisor of Elections team approached the tasks of building partnerships, recruiting election workers and keeping voters informed during a pandemic.

Lori Edwards has been Supervisor of Elections in Polk County since 2001, conducting more than 200 elections while serving in this non-partisan elected office. Before that, she served in the Florida House of Representatives.  Lori is a Past President of the Florida Association of Supervisors of Elections, and holds state and national certifications in election administration.
