The Dick Pope/Polk County Chapter of the FPRA will hold its monthly professional development meeting and a special “Passing of the Gavel” in honor of our DP/PC Chapter past presidents during a gavel-passing ceremony. With each gavel pass, members are reminded of FPRA’s rich history and the long line of leaders who dedicated their careers to furthering the public relations profession. Julie Frey, APR, CPRC
Director, Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications

Julie Frey, APR, CPRC, serves as the inaugural director for the Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. In this role, she assists employers offering internships and other career opportunities in connecting with and hiring students at one of the country’s premier journalism and communications programs.

Julie is a strategic communications professional with 20+ years of experience in higher education, nonprofit and corporate communications. Previously, she served as the inaugural communications director at the UF College of Design, Construction and Planning, building and leading the college’s integrated communications team.

She currently serves as President-Elect for the Florida Public Relations Association and is on the advisory board of the Academy of Entrepreneurship at Buchholz High School. Julie received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida. She has earned both the Accreditation in Public Relations and Certified Public Relations Counselor credentials and is a graduate of LeadershipFPRA and Leadership Gainesville.
