Triennial Full-Scale Exercise
February 27, 2019 @ 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL), in partnership with the Lakeland Fire Department’s (LFD) Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) program, will be holding their Triennial Full Scale Exercise in February of 2019. PCFR will be assisting as mutual aid in this drill and we will also be coordinating volunteers.
This full scale exercise tests the effectiveness and readiness of many organizations in Polk County’s ability to respond to a major emergency incident. A full incident command is established for this event, where a commercial aircraft carrying over 130 passengers crashes as it is taking off or landing at LAL. Jet fuel spills, fire ensues, many patients, and casualties.
