July Monthly Meeting: In House Vs. Outside Media Coverage

Team reporting means leaning into the access you have instead of being caught up in what you aren’t allowed to report. To get that access, you have to build trust and relationships, so players/coaches understand you are different from the outside media and they can be fully open and transparent with you. Everyone can cover the x’s and o’s. Use the unique access you have to humanize the team and make fans emotionally invested, in addition to caring about wins and losses.
Casey has been the Team Reporter for the Buccaneers for seven years serving as host for two television shows, two radio shows, providing web and social media content, serving as an in-stadium host, and emceeing events. She previously worked for the St. Louis Rams and Washington Wizards, as well as the Sports Public Relations department for Walt Disney World. She received her bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television Journalism and her master’s degree in Broadcast Management from the University of Missouri and is a Dallas, TX native.
