November Monthly Meeting: Changing the Narrative

Throughout her career, Katie has had the opportunity to work within private and public organizations, working to ‘change the narrative’ around the brand, product or community. Hear about the projects she has worked on over her career as well as get an update on what’s happening now to communicate a vision for the future of Lakeland.

Meet our Guest:
Katie joined the Lakeland Economic Development Council in January 2022. Prior to her role at the LEDC, she served as the President & CEO of the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce for 8 years. Her career has included work in hospitality management, insurance, banking, healthcare administration, and strategic marketing and communications.
Over the course of the last 16 years, she has served in leadership roles for numerous non-profits, specifically those related to community development, PreK- 12 education and engagement of young professionals in the formation of Polk County’s future. She now lives in Lakeland, is married to Justin Decker and has two children, Skylar, age 5 and Carter, age 3.
The Dick Pope/Polk County Chapter meetings take place the third Wednesday of the month. Networking begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by announcements and then our program at 8:30 a.m.
